Xi Jinping's talks point to two forces, one is domestic separatist forces, the other is external forces. Su Qi, former secretary-general of Taiwan's National Security Council, recently said that if Cai Ying-wen was re-elected successfully in January next year, a "volcanic eruption" might occur before May next year. A few days ago, Su Qi also said that the current situation on both sides of the Taiwan Strait has become so fragile that any disturbance may trigger "shaking the earth and shaking the mountains". If Su Qi's words are in line with the reality and the situation in the Taiwan Strait is close to the critical point, the further collapse of "Taiwan independence" may exceed the tolerance limit of the mainland.
